Resources are generally costed in two flavors - "variable expenses" and "fixed expenses"
Variable Expenses
Some people charge by the hour, some by the day, some by the year.
Fixed Expenses
Sometimes resource costs are "fixed" such as the cost of a particular part or component you need to purchase.
